Right. I am looking into getting a new phone… owing to my current contract coming to an abrupt end (through no fault of my own I hasten to add) and me being moved to pay as you go / pay as you talk. Pay as you talk! Seems really awkward… having to ring up and pop credit on your blower. Not to mention when it cuts off half way through a conversa… Argh!
Anyhow, enough of my whinging. I am sorely tempted by one of these new-fangled Apple iPhones and before I enter into a 360 month contract, I thought I would ask the masses “are Apple iPhones any good?”
Answers on a postcard to the usual address; I am sorry, but entries can’t be returned. Alternatively, just comment on this blog post below.
All views would be appreciated; good and bad. Perhaps there are competitive alternatives out there from Nokia, Google or similar… but which is best and which do I go for? Pray tell.
T mobile G1 Google android phone. If only because the ASA didn’t uphold my recent complaint about apple iPhone advertising. “There’s an app for just about everything, only on the iPhone”. Erm, I think you’ll find there are other phones with app stores. Grrr. Also I have a G1 and I think it’s great.
I find it a bit hypocritical how Apple signed themselves away to only provide UK iPhones on 02 when their business ethics are supposed to mean Apple products are inclusive, compatible and available to all.
But if that’s ending, good for them.
Apparently, the picture messaging aspect will be sorted with the new upgrade coming out soon… and people I know who have one say the camera is of good quality. Gave myself a week’s thinking time whilst away in Amsterdam but now back in the UK and none the wiser what to do… can’t really find any suitable alternatives, so this is sort of making my mind up. Anyone, Bueller, anyone?
As mike says the 02 deal doeseth come to an end in June but is the iphone for you? I’ve been debating it awhile now and have never quite managed to convince myself to get one. The main issue for me is the lack of a good camera and it’s inability to receive picture messages!!! C’mon Apple this is the least we expect from a phone nowadays.
A little birdie told me (no, it isn’t something I read on Twitter – see what I did there – birdie/twitter) that the exclusivity deal that 02 signed with Apple expires in June 2009 (to co-incide with the iPhone Firmware upgrade) and that means other providers can get you one of the precious things.
