Responding to change with a new website for South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

  • in Work

Mixd has recently launched a new website for South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust implementing a truly mobile first approach to the build. Matt and the the team really got their teeth into this one – implementing latest responsive best practice techniques wherever possible to ensure anyone visiting the site; whether from a tablet, mobile or desktop device gets a fantastic (and super-quick) experience meeting all their needs.

We worked with the client undertaking qualitative user research to give our design team access to real users from the target audiences before the design process began, it provided us with the information and ideas we needed to develop our thinking and avoided designing in problems that needed to be fixed later. The outcome of this UX research meant that we knew what content people would want when looking at the website on a mobile device compared to someone accessing it from a desktop computer and we could design and organise the structure of the site around this knowledge.

We are really pleased with the outcome and really excited that we have created a mobile first website that works equally well across all devices despite it being content-heavy with well over 1,000 pages – all as easily accessible at the flick of a finger as with a click of a mouse.

What our client had to say…

We chose to work with Mixd on this project because they clearly understood what we were trying to achieve with our new website and they were willing to challenge our thinking at every step of the process. This gave us the confidence in their ability to deliver us a site that met our vision and we are delighted with the results.
