BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND

Work in the Web is back! This Wednesday, we kick off our free, three day workshop here at Mixd. It’s run by us for students who want to know a little bit more about the web industry. It’s full of things that we enjoy, we think you’ll enjoy and something a little different, things like Git, Sass and responsive web design. I guess you could say it’s a little taster of what it’s like to work in industry.

It’s for the digital folk. These workshops are for those in full time education who want to learn more and really get a feel of what real life web work is like. Over the last few years we have had a lot of interest, not just in the UK but globally. We pick out 10 lucky people, a month before it starts. You don’t need to be an expert to apply. As long as we can see a passion and drive for all things web, then there is every chance we could soon be seeing you at our next event.

We love the idea of giving something back and educating people further. Supporting all those next generation web workers! We want to showcase our skills and be able to teach others what we know, what we’ve learnt and pass on our experience. This is something that we strive to do everyday in one way or another, there is always time to learn and you can never know too much. We are extremely passionate about our craft and believe that these workshops help us stand out from the crowd. We believe this creates a stronger connection between the industry and education.

We make sure that everyone is taken care of, fed and watered and 100% charged for the work ahead. A LOT of preparation is put into the event, our very own team are running the show and they have some great stuff planned. We create an interactive place to work enabling everyone to learn from us and from each other.

We’d also love to thank our sponsors, A Book Apart and Sketch for the goodies provided.
